This time, at the London Motor Show, the world has been shown Ford Fiesta ECOnetic - super -economic version of the car.
In the same line the similar versions of economical cars of Mondeo and Focus were previously released.
The announced characteristics of the Fiesta ECOnetic are quite impressive: the fuel consumption is only 3,08 l/100 km and CO2 emissions are less than 100 g / km. You might wonder - but the Fiesta ECOnetic is not a hybrid. These are great results aren’t they?
But how to achieve such an impressive fuel economy of the cars?
Ford engineers have achieved this through the careful combination of several technical solutions: economical turbo diesel engine in volume of 1.6 liters, narrow tires with low friction, oil of reduced viscosity and improved body aerodynamics. Moreover, the driver is helped to save fuel by the intelligent on-board computer - it tells the most advantageous mode of motion. But is there a sense in all that …?
The Fiesta ECOnetic sales in Europe will start at the end of 2008, at a cost of 23 000 dollars.

Fiesta Love Factory - Kohln begins producing Fiesta
So, here is the good news for all the fans of the new generation of Ford Fiesta - the Ford Plant located on the outskirts of Kohln begins the production of the new Fiesta on Thursday.
Specially for this occasion one of the buildings of the plant was even decorated with interesting posters, and now it is called Fiesta Love Factory. Under the same name a new promo site has started -it is dedicated to Fiesta - www.fiestalovefactory.com, and it has not yet been translated into Russian.
During 2008 it is planned to produce 148 000 cars. Ford Fiesta’s new generation will be exported to 50 countries, among them is Russia.
And the price of new Fiesta in Europe has alredy been published: the three-door version available will cost 11 250 euro, the five-door version will cost from 12 000 euro. The top modification in the configuration of Titanium will cost a minimum of 14 250 euro with the petrol engine and 16 250 euro - with the diesel one.

The production of Ford Fiesta has started
Today, the Ford factory in Kohln has launched the production of a new generation of Fiesta compact hatchback.
The plant in Kohln is the first to begin the production of the new Fiesta. In January 2009 the production of the car will begin in the Spanish city of Valencia. Outside Europe Fiesta will also be put on a production line at the automotive enterprises in Nanjing (China), Rayong (Thailand) and Kuautitlane (Mexico). The production for the respective regions of these plants will start in late 2008.
In the restructuring and modernization of the Kohln plant for the construction of Fiesta was invested 455 million euros. The company plans to release here 148 thousand of the new hatchbacks before the end of the year.
Russian presentation of the new Fiesta will be held at the Moscow International Motor Show, which will take place in the Moscow Exhibition Center «Crocus Expo», from the 26th of August to the 7th of September.

Ford is preparing a cargo version of Fiesta
New-generation Fiesta is clearly aiming to record on the number of modifications and different versions, many of which were represented prior to the launch of the vehicle into production.
Let us remember the sports version of Fiesta: Fiesta S, Fiesta ST and Fiesta RS and Fiesta Zetec S. In addition to the charged «hot hatchback» the Ford company will produce a low-priced model called ECOnetic. But if all of these varieties are quite logical and expected, the announcement of that in Paris the public will be represented with the cargo version called Ford Fiesta Panel Van, has been a surprise.
There won’t be a lot of differences from the series Fiesta. The rear windows’ glass will be replaced by the metal panels and the number of seats will be reduced to two. It should be noted that in Europe such cargo cars are very popular among small businesses, so the decision on the issue of Ford Fiesta Panel Van can be quite logical - the manufacturers want to get everything possible from the recently developed model.
But will the image of the new hatchback be spoilt by the fact? Anyway, Fiesta is not a working horse but a modern car with an aggressive and sportive design and people will buy it for that. The presence of the cargo version is not very supporting to enhancing the image of the car.
Prospects of the car in our country are very vague. Despite the volume of the trunk of a thousand liters, and efficient engines, it is unlikely that local small businesses will be tempted to acquire this «cargomobil». The prices for Fiesta Van in Germany have already been announced - 11 070 Euro.
